The purpose of this essay is to discuss key ideas that have acted upon my understanding of high-quality infnat and toddler education. The primary teaching method I will be addressing is the value of serve and return interactions, primary caregiving, attunement, and intersubjectivity. Throughout this essay, I will introduce the theoretical and philosophical underpinnings of each identified concepts with the carrying out of the concepts within practices followed by lessons. I will then build links to the four principles of Te Whariki. These four principles provide the base of the early childhood curriculum. These principles include relationships, family and community, empowerment, and holistic development. Closing with what these principles and strands mean to me as a teacher.
To begin with, I will analyze the importance of serve and return interactions when cooperating with infants and toddlers.
