Stress is the body’s way to react to a challenge. Stress is typically described a negative or position condition that can have an impact on a person’s mental and physical well-being. Life can be stressful; therefore you need to deal with ongoing stress properly. Stress can have a variety of causes and in this case of students, it can impede their academic ability which totally defeats the purpose of being stressed out. However, there are ways to overcome that stress. Students can practice proper time management, do light exercises and lastly, meditate.
The first and simplest way students can overcome stress is by having proper time management. Often, the main cause of stress is the lack of time to complete a certain task thus; by allocating your work properly you can avoid unnecessary stress. For instance, if you plan to do a very important task only late at night, you would be stressed out if you cannot complete it in time. In addition, if there are any problems, there would not be anytime to solve it and would cause you to be more stressed. However, if I simply allocate my work in the day, there is no need to be stressed out. Therefore, by managing your time properly, your stress can be overcome.
Secondly, doing light exercises can help you release tension in your muscles after a day of school and can also release stress. Whenever you are stressed by the overwhelming amount of work, a brick walk or a bike ride can help you a lot. It does not have to be a gruelling gym session; anything that can get your heart racing is good enough. According to a NYU studies about stress, regular exercise can help to release endorphins- which can release the tension in your body. Thus, exercising regularly can help release stress.
Last but not least, meditation can help overcome stress. Although the idea of sitting down and doing nothing sounds very boring, good breathing techniques can put you in a more relaxed state as they send oxygen surging through your bloodstream, helping to calm you down and beat the stress. According to a study in 2015, meditation is shown to release stress and worry through focusing on your own consciousness. Therefore, meditation is another great way to overcome stress.
In a nutshell, stress can cause a lot of pain and suffering to human kind. Every day, cases of suicide due to stress are increasing by leaps and bounds. Therefore, whenever you have too much stress, remember by exercising, meditating and managing your time properly, you can overcome stress. If you do not, all your hard work will go down the drain if you have a mental breakdown.
