Schools Start Too Early
I’m pretty sure most people hate getting up early in the morning to get to school. Well I think it’s the worst! In my opinion, I think school should start later because it is better for one’s health and it’s better for students’ concentration in class. One other reason why school should start later is because it is more convenient.
In the first place it’s better for one’s health. In order for your body to grow and develop you have to get enough sleep. If you do not get enough sleep it will lower the immune system and increase one’s chances of getting ill. Also, if school starts later you will be able to have a proper and healthy breakfast. It is important for students’ because with there growing bodies and developing brains they need regular refueling often, from food. When kids skip breakfast, they don’t get what they need to be at their best in school and at home. If you’re short on time you can just throw some fruit in a blender and make a delicious and nutritious smoothie. These things will improve one’s health.
In addition to improving one’s health, it is also better for one’s concentration. The average student needs about ten hours of sleep; however, most students, especially teens, only get around seven hours of sleep. If school started later students would be able to sleep in and therefore get more sleep which would increase their concentration in class.
Finally, if school started later it would be more convenient for students’, parents, and teachers, too. With school starting later, you will not be rushed and will have plenty of time to gather your things such as homework, school supplies and books. On top of not being rushed, you will not be as stressed whether you’re a parent, teacher or student.
I just stated a few reasons why school should start later, but there are many more. The main reasons why school should start later are that it’s better for one’s health, it’s better for students’ concentration in class, and last but not least it’s more convenient for everyone. Now just imagine sleeping in on a Monday morning and relaxing before school. Now that’s more like it. Now my next step is to make this a reality!
