One would be reticent to imagine living in a world without beautiful artwork, music, movies, and books. The world we are accustomed to would not exist without intellectual property rights to secure a form of ownership over these types of artistry. After all, every human that strives to live in a free society can cherish the right to own things that come from their own imagination. “Intellectual property consists of the fruits of one’s mind. The laws of intellectual property protect property that is primarily the result of mental creativity rather than physical effort” (Kubasek, Browne, Herron, Dhooge, & Barkacs, 2016, p. 161).
