In a Health and Social Care setting employees are entitled to work in a healthy and safe environment and service users should be provided with care and support that meets their needs. This includes protecting the rights of individuals and ensuring they are the main priority in terms of quality of care. In a residential care home setting there are many risks that can pose as hazards, causing harm to individuals who use the service. This can cause danger or harm to the individuals, later resulting in long term trauma or mental/physical disorders. In River House care professions work with the elderly where some have difficulty moving around independently and others have no/poor sensation on one of their body. This highlights the importance of providing a healthy and safe environment for individuals with no hazards to pose at risks.
