I believe that Brutus was a Patriot
I believe that Brutus was a Patriot. Brutus killed Caesar because Cassius convinced him that Caesar would destroy Rome and the people. He believed that he was doing the right thing in order to save Rome and its people. At the Battle of Philippi, Brutus kills himself because he was losing and he believes that he has done all he can for Rome. “How ill this taper burns! Ha! who comes here? I think it is the weakness of mine eyes That shapes this monstrous apparition. It come upon me. Art thou anything? Art thou some god, some angel, or some devil. That makest my blood cold and my hair to stare? Speak to me what thou art.” , before the battle he was vistied by the spirit of Caesar which i believe shows Brutus’ guilt for killing Caesar.
After Caesar was killed, Brutus gave a speech at his funeral. After hearing his speech, I believe that Brutus is a betrayer. Brutus’s speech was short and all about him and Caesar. “Et tu, Brute! Then fall, Caesar.”, this was said to Brutus when he stabbed Caesar as he was his friend and he betrayed him.
