Alexander’s objective was to bring Persian and Greek cultures and merge them together. He also took several Persian women as his wives and encouraged his soldiers and other officials to do the same. Alexander adopted the Persian government model but not their culture. He also placed Greeks and Persians into positions of political and administrative power. Even though this was not a popular move in regards to the Greeks he brought this kind of change because he knew he would be unable to oversee everything. Alexander kept the Persian custom of Satrapies (governor of provinces). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satrap. Alexander created a balance and affluent setting for trade. He also established new political systems.
