According to the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group on 2016, cyber bullying is becoming rampant in the country. Their findings found out that from 53 cases in 2013, it blew up to a big number in 2015 and 2016. They said that a total of 782 cases were reported to the ACG on 2016 significantly higher than the 458 incidents recorded in 2015. An example of this case is Ramon’s case, he became a victim of cyber bullying when he forgot to log out his Facebook account one day at an internet café. “They edited one of my pictures to make it look like I was naked. They made fun of me then they spread it on social media. It caused me so much embarrassment and my family as well,” Ramon stated. Because of this he quit his job and lost interest in his friends. He barely goes out of the house as well. And on year 2017, cases of cyberbullying have increased by 70.74% from 2016 , majority of the cases involved online libel with 498, an increase of 60.12 percent compared to the previous year’s 311 cases.
